“Courage is not the absence of fear but when fearful are still willing to go and obey.” TEAM's coordinator for Southeast Aisan workers among Asian minorities says, "I am so thankful that God uses words of encouragement to build up and strengthen the body of Christ." At a recent partnership conference of American churches and missions and Asian workers, a visiting pastor shared this truth with workers who hazard their lives for the sake of the gospel. Even though we all face giants in our lives, God provides smooth stones (like David when he faced Goliath) for battling those giants.
This is especially meaningful to the front line workers who now face “fearful times” – as they are choosing to go and obey. Please pray especially for a new team of two young women. These two ladies were deployed recently into a people group where there is great tension and unrest. These women are overwhelmed with the realization that they need to learn a new language and a new culture in the midst of great turmoil, and need the peace that David had when facing his giant.
They have reconfirmed their call and their desire to stay and bring the Gospel of light into this dark area. They are still in the process of surveying the area and choosing a location to live – please pray for them to have wisdom on where to stay – to have favor with the people – for them to identify people of peace who will welcome them and the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pray that the people they will connect with will have dreams and visions that will prepare their hearts for the testimony of these two young women. Pray also for peace for their families and for them to rest in Jesus. And pray for this team to have a western partner. I do not know of any church or group specifically committed to praying for them and their people group.
